Scarring from Cosmetic Surgery?

Do you have scarring from Cosmetic Surgery? Medical Tattooing can implant skin-coloured pigment into the scar to camouflage the area.

Cosmetic surgery is a personal journey that many people enter into, and then feel the stigma surrounding it. Many of my patients, both men and women who have had a facelift, blepharoplasty or breast reduction/uplift, feel the need too hide this from family and friends.

Any type of surgery, by the majority of people, is not undertaken lightly. Most will have done extensive research to find the right surgeon and gained all the relevant details to make an informed choice. For some, this will be down to cosmetic reasons, and for some, there will be an underlying medical cause, but whatever the motivation, a need to not be judged or to have to explain oneself can be paramount in choosing medical tattooing.

Scarring from Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic surgery can leave tiny invisible scars that heal well for some people, and for others, the scars can be white and noticeable.

Medical Tattooing can implant skin-coloured pigment into the scar to camouflage the area against the surrounding skin of whatever part of the body the scar is on. Generally, this will take two to four sessions, with four to eight weeks in between. The healing process is usually 3-7 days.

Once the tattooing is finished, the scarring is usually not visible to the naked eye, or at least not visible at conversational distance.
