Female pattern hair loss due to Menopause
Is the Menopause causing your hair to thin? Have you noticed patchiness around your temples or crown?
Very commonly, the volume and condition of hair will worsen as a person ages, and with many women this can also mean a change in hair growth. You may find more hair in the sink or your hair brush over time, especially once peri menopause or menopause starts. For some women they will experience a more profound hair loss, with thinning at the temples, the crown or a more general all over thinning.
Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL) can cause anxiety, distress and sometimes leads to a change in lifestyle for many women.
If this is of concern to you there are a number of treatments that can help. The link at the bottom of the page will give you more detailed information regarding FPHL from The British Association of Dermatologists and Women’s Health Concern.
If you have this condition and have tried everything else, or just want a simple, effective solution, Medical tattooing may be the right treatment for you. Medical Tattooing can be used to add density in the patchy areas of hair loss.
HOW DOES MEDICAL TATTOOING WORK FOR FPHL?
When you look very closely at your hair and how it enters the scalp, you will notice there are tiny holes called follicles. These follicles can be replicated by tattooing tiny dots with natural pigments into the scalp.
DOES IT HURT?
No, anaesethic is not required for this treatment. It isn’t painful, and some people find it very relaxing.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The cost will depend on the size of the area to be treated. Please contact the establishment with photographs so they can give you the cost of your treatment.
WHERE CAN I GET IT DONE?
Most Medical Tattooists or Scalp Micropigmentation clinics will be able to offer this service. It is a private service and is not currently available on the NHS.
WILL IT LOOK REAL?
